Essay

I'd forgotten about essays. I can't do them. I have the attention span of a really hyperactive moth that just drank coffee. It's on a cool topic though, coevolution. It's really interesting, but it would be so much better to have David Attenborough explaining it... He was named as one of Michael Parkinson's top 10 entertainers incidentally. Damn right.
Ooo, and I now have the Tarzan soundtrack on my laptop. Time to damnce like a fool? I think so...

It's not even midday. And I'm fighting my way through a massive plate of spaghetti. Nobody should have to do that ever. Blaaaaaah!

First day back. Rowing. This is all. And the sudden realisation that I don't know whether to do plants or animals as my other major topic. Argh! And I have done NO revision for my collection, and it's on Friday morning, and I'm rowing every day which is knackering, so I feel too tired to be that productive. A fine mess to be sure.

Rowing is over... Noooooooooo!!!

Summer eights has been and gone, with us finishing 4th in our division (which isn't at all bad). We got bumped by Teddy Hall on the last day, but they are a really good team so it's not so bad. Thing is, I really didn't feel down about getting bumped at all, the atmosphere was so good I was really hyper all day for no apparant reason! We had war paint for our last race, which Victoria and me then managed to spread to Ricki, Sam, Luke, Stuart and Dominique. Dominique is the best, she's going to let us paint her bike in our rowing colours, even though she's from Lincoln! Cool.
Also had my first rowing social, at Pierre Vicotire (I think) on Little Clarendon. I preferred the food at Cafe Rouge, but it was still good. Soooooo many drunk noisy people in one place, it was ridiculous. The other people in the restaurant looked well pissed off. But never mind. We got free wine. Victoria was very impressed that I came back standing (how rude!).
So I now have to get my life back on track, as everything seems to have been put on hold for rowing these past few weeks. Like revision (oh holy fuck, revision!) and laundry, etc etc etc. Boring, mundane things to look forward to. And an essay to write. In a day. On something I know NOTHING about, but worse, something I kow nothing about which we have apparantly done already! The thought of revision fills me with panic. ARGH! Still. I will come out of this alive one way or another. I hope.
I should go work. Later.

We bumped St. Johns!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!! This does mean they will be chasing us harder today, but still! Weather is awful, I'm going to get wet... Meh. Can't wait!
AND yet another day when I got up all ready for a 9 o'clock only to find I have an 11 o'clock instead. This could fast become irritating...

Summer Eights

excited
First day of eights was yesterday, and we got bumped which sucked most harshly. Still, today is another day, so we shall not mope too much! And on the plus side our team shirts look really nice (shirts, yay!!!) Tom reckons Victoria and me are becoming boring rowers who talk about nothing except rowing... He may or may not be right. But still, I think blisters make fascinating dinner-time conversation... hehehe.
Nothing else particularly interesting has happened, other than me thinking I had a 9 o'clock and getting up early when in fact this is practically the only day this whole YEAR when my lecture is not at 9 and is in fact at 11. Bugger.

I figured I haven't updated this for a while, and as I have nothing better to do I'm going to do it now! So there!
Nothing particularly exciting has happened recently, other than ordering our rowing kit for the Summer VIIIs (yay!). So I finally get my college sports shirt, and before Ricki! Result. Being in it for the merchandise doesn't make me a bad person, honest! Hehehe.
I finished my essay early (get me I'm so keen, yeah baby etc etc) and have wasted what was left of the day messing around with my guitar. It's typical, I didn't play my guitar that much the 1st terms, and now when I really should be working get compulsions for power chords and The Eagles... *sigh* Still, I found this really really good site with like, ALL the Offspring songs ever tabbed out. It's amazing, and there's a really good version of Gone Away, which is like, the best song ever, by the best band in the world ever. It's so good, it's the only piece of music that gets me anything even close to emotional.
Dexter Holland is a genius.
